Live-In Caregiver — Position Overview

This is a Live-In Caregiver position, which means you remain in the client’s home during your scheduled days to provide support, companionship, supervision, and personal care as needed. Live-in care provides stability and continuity for the client, and caregivers typically work in 2-, 3-, or 4-day rotations, with another caregiver covering the remaining days.

Live-In Caregiver Shift Structure (7 PM – 7 PM) — Break & Sleep Rules

Live-in caregivers work a 24-hour shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 PM and remain in the client’s home for the full rotation.

Caregivers work predictable, recurring rotations such as:

  • 2-Day Rotation — Example: Tue 7 PM → Thu 7 PM

  • 3-Day Rotation — Example: Thurs 7 PM → Sat 7 PM

  • 4-Day Rotation — Example: Sun 7 PM → Thurs 7 PM

Sleep Break — 8 Hours at Night

  • You receive an 8-hour sleep period overnight, including 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep

  • You will still need to assist the client briefly (for example, helping to the bathroom)

You will have a private sleeping space and normal sleep conditions.

Daytime Breaks — 4 Hours Total Per Day

You also receive 4 hours of off-duty break time during the day.
The schedule is arranged based on client needs and family routine, and may be:

  • One 4-hour block, or

  • 2 separate 2-hour breaks, or

  • 4 separate 1-hour breaks

Break timing may vary by client, but the goal is to provide reasonable rest time while maintaining continuity of care.
